Anushree Reddy and Lakmé Salon Present ‘MAYA’: Zardozi Couture Meets Three Bridal Beauty Looks
Sara Arjun was showstopper as Lakmé Salon translated Anushree Reddy’s bridal collection into hair and makeup at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI
Lakmé Salon and designer Anushree Reddy brought ‘MAYA’ to the runway at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI on 16 October 2026. The showcase celebrated bridal couture and artistry, pairing couture craftsmanship with modern beauty. Young screen star Sara Arjun was the showstopper and brought the collection’s story to a resplendent close.
Lakmé Salon as Beauty Partner
Lakmé Salon was the official brand and beauty partner for Anushree Reddy’s showcase. It translated the visual and emotional language of the MAYA bridal couture collection into a matching makeup artistry story. Inspired by illusion, imagination and possibility, MAYA puts Reddy’s couture and Lakmé Salon’s makeup artistry into one shared runway vision. While Reddy’s bridal creations took centre stage, Lakmé Salon finished each look with contemporary hair and makeup, building a complete bridal aesthetic that is romantic and modern.
Anushree Reddy’s Return to the Sketchbook
MAYA is Reddy’s renewed exploration of femininity, colour and craft. After more than a decade of building her signature around wildflowers, pastels and romantic silhouettes, the designer went back to her sketchbook to imagine what could come next. She drew on mythology, childhood stories and the everyday objects that have long inspired her, and the collection gave familiar ideas a fresh perspective.
Where MAYA Draws From
Zardozi at the Heart of the Collection
At the heart of MAYA is the richness of zardozi, lifted with intricate threadwork, shimmering sequins and glass beads. Traditional techniques were layered with colour, texture and movement, and the result was pieces that felt abundant yet contemporary, with each garment revealing itself through maximal detailing, ornamentation and dimension.
Craft and Embellishment
Three Bridal Beauty Looks
Lakmé Salon created the signature MAYA beauty looks in close collaboration with Reddy, bringing the collection’s romantic and expressive spirit to life through three distinct bridal beauty identities. From velvet-glow skin and cloud-soft lips to watercolour blush, diffused reds and dual-toned eyes, each look celebrates a different expression of the modern bride. The beauty and hair direction worked with the couture to form a seamless dialogue between couture and contemporary bridal beauty.
The Soft Romantic Bride gave the show its gentler side, the Timeless Bride added a contemporary edge to classic bridal beauty, and the Maximal Bride went for bold self-expression. Together, the looks reflected MAYA’s philosophy: trends inspire, but individuality leads.
