GUAPA Golden Hour Brings Sunset Colour, Badla and Gota to Resortwear at Lakmé Fashion Week
Designer Reby Kumar’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection pairs vibrant hand-drawn prints and fluid kaftans with traditional Indian craft
GUAPA Golden Hour brought the warmth of sunlit destinations and the easy spirit of modern resortwear to the runway when designer Reby Kumar unveiled the label’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). The collection is inspired by the fleeting moments before sunset, when colours deepen, shadows soften and everything takes on a golden glow, and it turned that hour into an interplay of colour, craftsmanship and contemporary silhouettes.
Light, Colour and Texture
Rooted in GUAPA’s signature joyful prints, vibrant colour combinations and versatile dressing, GUAPA Golden Hour looked at the relationship between light and texture through a fresh reading of traditional Indian techniques. It brought the ease of destination dressing together with the sophistication of modern luxury, in a wardrobe that moves between resort escapes, city experiences and occasions that call for effortless glamour.
Where the GUAPA Wardrobe Travels
Badla, Gota and Patchwork
The runway had fluid kaftans, contemporary silhouettes and striking colour combinations that reflected the warmth and luminosity of the inspiration. Hand-worked badla and gota added delicate shimmer that catches the light and gives dimension to flowing forms. Intricate patchwork brought unexpected pairings of colour and texture, and GUAPA’s hand-drawn prints gave each ensemble an artistic individuality. Together they balanced relaxed elegance with considered craftsmanship, which is how the label approaches modern Indian luxury.
Craft and Detail in GUAPA Golden Hour
GUAPA Golden Hour: Resort-to-City Dressing
At the heart of GUAPA Golden Hour was the way light turns the familiar into something extraordinary. The collection expressed that through handcrafted embellishments set against fluid construction, and bold prints balanced by easy, wearable forms. By reading traditional Indian techniques through resort-to-city dressing, GUAPA presented a collection that felt rooted in Indian craftsmanship while keeping an international sensibility.
