Siddhartha Bansal World From Above Joins Vesara Temple Geometry and Salt-Lake Textures at Lakmé Fashion Week
Pleated silks, hand tucks and extensive hand texturing turn temple plans and mineral earth into a collection about seeing the world without borders
Siddhartha Bansal World From Above looked at a shift in perspective, where borders disappear and the world reveals itself as one continuous landscape, when the designer presented it at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI on 17 October 2026 at Taj Palace, New Delhi. The collection joined the geometry and extraordinary craftsmanship of India’s Vesara temples with the organic textures of salt lakes, mineral earth, mountains and changing terrains, and viewed architecture and nature from above to build a visual language shaped by geometry, time and human touch.
Vesara Temples Meet the Natural Landscape
At the heart of Siddhartha Bansal World From Above is the architecture of Vesara temples. Aerial temple plans, carved pillars, ornamental friezes and sacred motifs were reimagined alongside patterns and textures drawn from the earth, so the precision of architecture and the irregularity of the natural landscape could converge. Viewed from a distance, these seemingly different worlds begin to connect and become part of one larger visual vocabulary.

Siddhartha Bansal World From Above: Silks, Pleats and Hand Tucks
That dialogue came through in relaxed yet architectural silhouettes, made in silk, heavyweight silk organza, handwoven tussar silk and Chanderi. Pleating, hand tucks and intricate pinch tucks sculpted the fabrics and gave the silhouettes structure, while hand embroidery and extensive hand texturing reinterpreted the depth and irregular beauty of stone carving, architecture and the earth’s natural surfaces.

Beyond Literal References
Through these techniques, Siddhartha Bansal World From Above looked beyond literal representations of its references and translated their forms, textures and geometries into contemporary fashion. The precision of temple architecture met the unpredictability of natural terrain, and the collection’s extensive handwork kept craftsmanship at the centre of that conversation.
In Siddhartha Bansal’s Words
A Message of Oneness
Beyond its architectural and material exploration, Siddhartha Bansal World From Above carries a larger message of oneness. The collection suggests that perspective can change how we understand both the world and one another.
With the collection, Bansal invited audiences to experience fashion from a different vantage point, one where architecture meets landscape, craft meets perspective, and boundaries give way to connection.
