RAVI BAJAJ RETURNED TO LAKMĒ FASHION WEEK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FDCI WITH A COLLECTION THAT PERFECTLY EMBODIED HIS DESIGN SENSIBILITIES

New Delhi, 12th October, 2025: One of the daring pioneers of the Indian fashion industry, Ravi Bajaj launched his eponymous label in 1987, on his return in 1986 after graduating from London’s American College of fashion.

Ravi Bajaj has been responsible in elevating Indian fashion that projects style and substance onto a couture level. A master craftsman at designing collections for men and women, the Ravi Bajaj design elements have been in the forefront and projected a dynamic New Age elegance.

To the lilting voice of Rachel Varghese, the collection unveiled the classic styling of Ravi Bajaj.

At Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, Ravi Bajaj brought on the runway his “Lumina” collection, which displayed the designer’s distinct fashion sensibilities. Showcasing a collection for men and women in two moods, Ravi creatively played with black and then contrasted it with jewel tones that were the highlight of the ensembles. With the inventive aid of hand painting, textures, pearl and metallic accents on luxe silks, the line of apparel brought an exciting new dimension for the coming season.

Brought to centre stage once again, were the iconic Ravi Bajaj women’s jackets that have been haute sellers ever since they hit the store racks. These jackets were ideally teamed with traditional cuts featuring boat pants and Shanghai jackets.

Known for his expertly cut garments that have offered timeless options for his buyers, Ravi has been renowned for his western wear for men and women. Ravi’s embellishments have also favoured a more restrained edge that at times, was termed as bold. For the “Lumina” collection, Ravi opted for dramatic metallic touches, some impressive 3D accents, the shimmer of crystals and the addition of flirty tassels.

The “Lumina” Collection by Ravi Bajaj had a distinct global impact and will undoubtedly appeal to buyers who appreciate style, substance and immaculate design finishes.

SUNEET VARMA’S DEBUT READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION WAS A CREATIVE DESIGN TRANSLATION OF FANTASY COUTURE AT LAKMĒ FASHION WEEK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FDCI

Suneet Varma’s ready-to-wear debut with his “SV by Suneet Varma” collection was a great addition to the designer’s repertoire at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI.

Suneet Varma’s first couture collection hit the store racks in 1991 soon after he had honed his design skills at the London School of Fashion as well as had done a stint with Yves St Laurent, to master the art of artisanal techniques.

Suneet is known to introduce the art of global finesse to Indian couture and has been the favourite of brides around the world. Suneet’s wedding trousseaux have been coveted by not only the most sophisticated celebs but also the glamour icons in India.

Setting the ready-to-wear mood of the “SV by Suneet Varma” collection, the live music by the band, King’s Code, kept the tempo of the show in top gear as the models sashayed on the runway.

The inspirations for the “SV by Suneet Varma” collection were visualized from the stylish, effortless, glamour of the 1970’s. It was an era when the timeless, popular, singer, Cher and the beautiful Miss Asia 1970, Zeenat Aman set their personal distinct style trends.

The mood and ambience of Suneet’s collection projected a confident style that at times moved onto a sexy, chic path. The quick display of stylish jackets, practical shirts, jaunty skirts, flouncy dresses and comfortable coord sets on the ramp, ensured there was immense adaptability in the garments.

The colours were varied to suit the mood of the ready-to-wear line, as favoured black and white were balanced with beige and hints of gold. To further elevate the design tone of the collection, lace emerged as a good option with metallic fabrics, as well as the addition of sheer panels. The sharply cut silhouettes provided a balanced practical appeal that had at times hints of couture detailing.

The “SV by Suneet Varma” ready-to-wear collection was a great fashion offering that not only imbibed luxury for the young style conscious audience, but also had the stamp of Suneet Varma’s design characteristics.
